Musab Al Mahruqi

Group Chief Executive Officer

Musab Al Mahruqi was appointed as CEO OQ Company in December 2018 to lead the integration of what is to become the Sultanate’s flagship energy company. Al Mahruqi’s career in the oil and gas industry spans almost 20 years, including six years as the CEO of Orpic and seven years in various positions at Oman Oil Company, including Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Project Finance Manager. He has also held operational, technical, commercial, and financial roles in upstream and downstream industries. He earned a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Nottingham University, UK, and an MBA from Edinburgh University, UK.

Adil Toubia

Chief Executive Officer Upstream

Adil Toubia, a Norwegian citizen, has over 30 years of experience in industrial and investment companies.
He started his career at Schlumberger, achieving to lead the company’s world-famed ‘Wireline’ business as its President, and subsequently as President of Schlumberger Drilling Services, Worldwide. Adil has held CEO roles in many companies, including leading Siemens’ Oil & Gas division (17,000 people) as the CEO. More recently, Adil was Vice-Chairman and CEO of Ecolog International (12,000 people in 150 locations worldwide). Since 2007, Adil has also been an active board member in our subsidiary “Abraj Energy Services”. Adil holds a master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Columbia University, New York (USA).

Ahmed Al Jahdhami

Chief Executive Officer Downstream

Ahmed Al Jahdhami’s career in the oil and gas industry began over 20 years ago in the field of Mechanical Engineering. He now serves as the CEO Downstream at OQ. His previous roles include CEO of Oman Power and Water Procurement Company, in addition to other leadership roles at the Public Authority for Electricity and Water, and Oman’s former Ministry of National Economy. Al Jahdhami holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK.

Dr. Salim Al Huthaili

Chief Executive Officer Duqm Refinery & Petrochemicals Industries

Dr. Salim Al Huthaili was appointed CEO of Duqm Refinery and Petrochemicals Industries in December 2018. His extensive experience across various multinational organisations means that he is a key success factor for driving the strategic project, with an emphasis on value creation and optimisation. His previous postings include Royal Dutch Shell, where he led Shell chemicals operations in the Middle East, and OXEA as CEO and Member of the Executive Board. Before taking on the role of CEO at Duqm Refinery he worked at Oman Oil Company as Strategy and Performance Director for the Downstream Business. Al Huthaili holds a Ph.D in Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK.

Talal Al Awfi

Chief Commercial Officer Commercial

Talal Al Awfi has over 20 years’ experience in oil, gas, and petrochemical marketing and trading. In his current role as Chief Commercial Officer, he is primarily responsible for all of the marketing functions within the group. During his career he has held several key positions in the public and private sectors, notably the CEO of Oman Trading International. As well as serving as a member of various boards across the oil and gas industry, Al Awfi has held a series of Project Management positions, one of which involved the initiation and set up of Oman Trading International in 2005. He holds a BSc in Business and Finance, as well as an MSc in Marketing from Salford University, UK.

Nazar Al Lawati

Chief Financial Officer Finance & Strategy

Now serving as OQ Company’s CFO, Nzar Al Lawati’s career with Orpic alone spans eight years. His current post is instrumental to the company’s financial and risk operations as it crosses the threshold of major growth. Al Lawati’s presence in the oil and gas industry dates back to 1995, when he joined Petroleum Development Oman. Since then he has held senior roles in the energy industry including Risk Management & Governance at Shell in the Middle East. Al Lawati gained his education at the University of Sussex, UK, where he studied engineering, and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Ibtisam Al Riyami

Senior Vice-President People and Culture

Ibtisam Al Riyami’s mandate at OQ Company spans Human Resources, Brand, Communications, Sustainability and Administration including Work Environment, as well as accountability for the Group’s transformation through Digitalization, Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI). Al Riyami joined the Group from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), where she held the position of People and Change Director from 2013. Her distinguished 30+ year career has included a number of IT roles at PDO, culminating in her position as Manager of Information Management and Technology, in addition to a four-year expatriation at Shell Exploration in Aberdeen, UK. Al Riyami holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa, USA, an Executive MBA from the University of Aberdeen, UK, and an Executive Masters in Coaching and Consulting for Change from INSEAD, France

Shihab Al Barwani

Senior Vice-President Projects and Technology

Shihab Al Barwani’s started his career in PDO’s instrumentation function in Oman, then undertook several assignments at Shell in the U.K. incl. at Stanlow Refinery, as well as in projects in Canada, The Netherlands and Nigeria. Back in Oman, Shihab led PDO’s Engineering for South Oman and subsequently delivered its USD 1,5 bn Harweel project. Shihab’s mandate at OQ will take the live projects worth USD 28 bn and more investments in sight including in Alternative Energy, the SVP Projects & Technology drives a profound, transformative impact on OQ’s business. The P&T function will build a sustainable and technology-leading business by leveraging core areas of Project Delivery, QHSE and Engineering & Technology. Shihab holds a bachelor’s degree in Measurement & Control from Teesside University (U.K.).

Ayad Al Balushi

Alternative Energy

Ayad Al Balushi was recently appointed to lead OQ’s new Alternative Energy sector. This is a promising & captivating new focus for OQ which will make us more diversified and resilient. Born and bred in the oil and gas industry, Al Balushi’s diversified experience in upstream oil and gas covers the areas of Finance & Strategy, Portfolio, Economics & Planning and Projects. His previous roles saw him hold the position of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Portfolio Officer at Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production (OOCEP). He also recently led OQ’s successful Integration Management Office. Prior to joining OQ, Al Balushi worked in Petroleum Development Oman and Schlumberger. He is a graduate of Oman’s National CEO Program by IMD, and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham. He is also Deputy Chairman of Abraj Energy Services
