OQ Brings Expanded PP and PE Portfolio to CHINAPLAS 2026 for Advanced Packaging and Infrastructure Applications
OQ, the global energy investment group, will participate in CHINAPLAS 2026 in Shanghai, showcasing its largest polypropylene and polyethylene portfolio to date. The portfolio comprises of 17 grades designed to support high-demand applications across flexible and rigid packaging, housewares and durable goods. It reflects OQ's focus on practical polymer innovation.
China is one of the world's most important markets for polymer application development and advanced manufacturing. As a global benchmark for packaging innovation and cost-performance optimisation, the market plays a critical role in shaping how materials are developed and processed. It also shapes how solutions scale across broader Asia-Pacific value chains.
OQ has designed its CHINAPLAS 2026 portfolio for this environment. Across flexible packaging, rigid packaging and durable applications, the grades deliver measurable cost-performance advantages. These range from enabling lightweighting to more energy-efficient processing without compromising end-use performance.
For packaging converters, PP random copolymer grades such as Luban™ RP2251T enable transparent, durable and re-usable formats for food containers, personal care and housewares applications. They also deliver energy savings and higher production output. In addition, the expanded PE portfolio, spanning both LLDPE and HDPE, offers converters greater design flexibility across multilayer flexible packaging for food and industrial applications.
The portfolio extends beyond packaging into infrastructure goods, where long service life and mechanical reliability are equally critical. The Rotomoulding grade Luban™ LL-R3605UV serves water tanks, industrial containers and outdoor applications. Luban™ LL-R3605UV delivers UV resistance and durability that reduce lifecycle costs for end users while applying the same cost-performance principles.
Across all applications, OQ's grades support automated, high-speed manufacturing environments by combining processability, durability and efficiency suited to modern processing lines.
“Our expanded portfolio reflects our approach to innovation, starting from consumer and application needs and translating them into material solutions,” said Abdul Rahman Al Tamtami, Vice President Global Marketing at OQ Marketing. “Converters today require materials that deliver consistent performance across increasingly demanding processing environments, while meeting evolving expectations around efficiency, cost optimisation and end-use performance. Our presence at CHINAPLAS reflects our commitment to being a trusted solutions partner in global markets.”
OQ's application-focused approach to developing high-demand polymer grades is shaped by close collaboration with converters, in-house technical expertise and value chain partners. This ensures materials are both performance-proven and co–innovated from ideation to commercialisation.
“China is a key market within our Asia growth strategy,” said Sadiq Al Lawati, Managing Director of OQ Marketing. “Our PE and PP portfolio reflects the scale of opportunity, spanning high-volume packaging, consumer goods and infrastructure applications. We position ourselves as a partner in our customers’ success by combining the right materials, technical expertise and a clear commitment to the industries that matter most in this market.”
